Emmeline. Bed Frame. September 03rd , 2017.
Metal and wood made frames are mostly common and widely used all over the world for providing better support of mattress over the bed. While wooden frame looks classy and elegant, iron frame looks trendy and almost maintenance free so never attracts any special care-giving issue. On contrary iron frames are least combustible whereas wooden frames have markedly low level fire resistance. Wooden frames are mostly available on the four legs while metal frames are found on wheels.
The terms modern and contemporary when used to describe furniture is often interchangeable, so much so that, the common man gets confused when people refer to one or the other. While modern could refer to a school of design, contemporary could refer to a time period - e.g. furniture pieces from the 1980s could be referred to as "contemporary" 1980s furniture. However, for practical purposes, a modern frame of bed and contemporary bed-frame could both have the similar clean, simple style and uncluttered design.
You need to know the advantages and disadvantages of each material so that you can make an informed decision. It is because of the bed frame and the mattresses that you get the total comfort. So, make sure that you get the best frame and mattress for the bed. In addition to the comfort, you will also have to take care of the ambience and décor of the bedroom. So, going by this logic, if you have all wood furniture in the bedroom, then it does not make sense to have a bed with metal frames.
If you are concerned about the noise than you should buy twin frames that are also quiet! No squeaking or creaking while climbing in or out. This is definitely a plus! Finding a bed can be quite a task. You have to trawl the shops, testing mattresses, bases and measuring the widths and the heights of each of them. Wouldnt it be great if you could just get a frame for the bed that would allow you to buy any board or base and mattress and you know it will fit? That is where a twin bed frame comes in.
The traditional four-poster bed as seen in Regency England has become modernized with canopy bed frames. This style once seen only in museums has been given a new lease of life by modern furniture makers who have seen their potential as an elegant yet sturdy bed frame. The modern canopy frames still have the four posts in each corner. These can extend to four feet from the ground and have supports from which curtains will hang. The posts are no longer ornate but have a simpler more utilitarian design that is easy to dismantle and clean.
